Tense কত প্রকার ও কি কি ?

ক্রিয়ার কালকে অর্থাৎ কাজ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার সময়কে tense বা কাল বলে। Tense তিন ধরনের হয়। যথা-

• Present tense বা বর্তমান কাল
• Past tense বা অতীত কাল ও
• Future tense বা ভবিষ্যৎ কাল ।

Present tense:

• Present Indefinite tense 
• Present continuous tense
• Present perfect tense and
• Present perfect continuous tense.

কোন সাধারণ ঘটনা, চিরন্তন সত্য কথা বা কারো অভ্যাসগত কাজ বোঝালে তাকে present Indefinite tense বলে।

Example: 

• I eat rice.
• The earth moves around the sun.
• I go to school every day.

Present continuous tense:

কোন কাজ বর্তমানে চলছে বা নিকট ভবিষ্যতে চলবে এরূপ বোঝালে তাই present continuous tense.

Example:

• I’m eating rice.
• They are laughing.

কোন কাজ মাত্র শেষ হয়েছে বা যার ফল এখনও পর্যন্ত প্রকাশিত হয় নাই সেটাই present perfect tense.

Example:

• I have eaten rice.
• They have reached to their destination.

Present perfect continuous tense:

কোন কাজ পূর্বে শুরু হয়েছে কিন্তু এখনও শেষ হয়নি তাই present perfect continuous tense.

Example: 

• I have been reading for two hours.
• They have been working since early morning.

কোন কাজ অতীতে সংঘটিত হয়েছে বোঝালে তাকে past tense বলে। Past tense চার ধরনের হয়। যথা-

• Past Indefinite tense
• Past continuous tense
• Past perfect tense and 
• Past perfect continuous tense.

কোন কাজ অতীতে সংঘটিত হয়েছে বা অতীতের কোনো অভ্যাস বোঝালে তাকে past Indefinite tense বলে।

Example:

• I ate rice.
• He went to library yesterday.

কোন কাজ অতীতে সংঘটিত হচ্ছিল এরূপ বোঝালে তাকে past continuous tense বলে। 

Example :

• Rupa was sleeping yesterday evening.
• They were gossiping  one hour before.

অতীতে যদি দুটি কাজ সংঘটিত হয়ে থাকে তাহলে যেটা আগে সংঘটিত হয়েছে সেটাই past perfect tense.

Example:

• The train had left before he reached the station.
• The patient had died before the doctor came.
• My father came after my mother had cooked.

কোন কাজ যদি অতীতে কোন বিশেষ সময়ের পূর্বে শুরু হয় এবং সেই সময়ের পূর্বেই শেষ হয় সেটাই past perfect continuous tense.

Example:

• He had been reading since morning yesterday.
• I had been sleeping up to 10:00 am yesterday.

কোন কাজ ভবিষ্যতে সংঘটিত হবে এমন বোঝালে তাকে Future tense বলে। Future tense ও চার ধরনের হয়। যথা-

• Future Indefinite tense
• Future continuous tense
• Future perfect tense and
• Future perfect continuous tense.

Future Indefinite tense:

• They will go to concert tomorrow.
• I will eat entire tonduri chicken.

কোন কাজ ভবিষ্যতে সংঘটিত হবে এরূপ বোঝালে তাকে Future continuous tense বলে।

Example:

• They will be go to national park.
• He will be participate in debate competition.

Future perfect tense:

Future perfect continuous tense:

ভবিষ্যতে কোন কাজ চলতে থাকবে এরূপ বোঝালে তাকে Future perfect tense বলে।

Example:

• She will have been reading in this college for two years.
